The topic is “Re-shaping the role of artists in society
The general default state of an artist is to produce works and then present them, but is there more possibilities? If artists do not just create works but promote the development of events through the creation process or guide people to think or feel from different perspectives, can artists use this to enter different systems?
Well, for me, the answer is yes. Artists can establish new perspectives and methods in other fields through their artistic practice. I brought out my two recent works as an example to elaborate. One is The Mirage Replicas which was first present at the Taoyuan Technology Arts Festival and developed during my residency at the Industrial Technology Research Institute(ITRI) @artsatitri . The other one is the work is called The Tin House in Shezidao which was shown in the 2022 We the Shezi Living Fest @wetheshezi .
