The Old Friends | 2017

Sound Installation Performance| 2017

Once, a world was built with those toys you gave names, and ages have gradually washed away this world. Yen Tzu Chang had a hobby: collecting toys when she was a child. Rather than plastic dolls and robots, she only preferred stuffed toys which can reduce her anxiety. The more stuffed toys she collected, the more secure she felt. However, the situation was dramatically mitigated as she grew older. To investigate this past, she brings the old stuffed toys to her current life. An instrument is heaped up with memories. It is also a medium to reconstruct childhood. What she used to do with these old friends - talking, singing, dubbing, touching, squeezing, is represented in the electronic instrument as a performance.
